Green hotels are perhaps the best way to help the sustainable travel industry. Instead of just supporting the sustainability ideologically, you're supporting it with your wallet as well.
Green hotels are hotels that go out of their way to use the most environmentally friendly materials, equipment, processes and policies they can.
This means using energy saving light bulbs, water conserving shower heads, good insulation, low flush toilets, heat / cool conserving windows and energy star appliances.
It means they often use environmentally friendly products instead of mass produced products. For example, you might find green soaps and shampoos in your bathroom instead of the cheapest possible shampoo the hotel could buy.
Often times green hotels will serve organic foods, raw foods or vegan foods in their kitchens.
By supporting green hotels, you're not just supporting the hotel - you're supporting all their vendors as well. All the money you spend will go towards helping the environment in one way or another.Read more: How to Find "Green Hotels"
Paris has always been a city full of magic and wonder where dreams come true, and there are many reasons to visit and much to do, see, taste and experience. Paris is filled with the world's most recognized landmarks including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre and has an ambience about it that is almost surreal in its beauty. If your Old City accommodation is clean, safe and suites your budget don't miss the chance to be this close to where Jesus lived, where the temple stood and where Mohammed stepped up to heaven.
Great for those who want to be in the heart of the Old City but not break the bank. Backpackers will love the international young crowd that hangs out here. A mexican's advice on travelling in Cancun.
What is your favourit place to eat in Cancun?
A cheap and delicious place would be: Los de Pescado (it's fish tacos, but there's also shrimp tacos and other plates such as ceviche). If you're looking for something more luxurious, "Puerto Madero" specializes in meat and salads. For typical mexican food try "La Destilería", but it can be a little expensive though. They're all located in the hotel zone, and my favorite is definitely Puerto Madero. Another great option is "La Habichuela", but ask the hotel concierge to direct you to the one located downtown, as the one in the hotel zone isn't as good as the other. It serves international food, a bit expensive though.
What is your favorit place to get a drink in Cancun?
If you're just willing to literarily get a drink try the Rose Bar at ME Hotel, you can enter even if you aren't staying in a room there. But if you're looking to party hard try Coco Bongo (great live shows) or The City. The area where the last two are located is called "party zone", and you'll find lots of clubs and bars over there -it's really safe. ME Hotel is in front of La Isla Shopping Village (a mall), a bit far from the others. My favorite club, however, is Daddy, with good music, people and drinks.Read more: Travelling in Cancun
